Today is a big day for us—we raised a $30 million Series B financing led by Menlo Ventures with participation from Tiger Global Management, Upfront Ventures, and Harrison Metal. This brings our total funding to over $40 million since we launched Fleetsmith in 2016. Menlo Ventures partners Naomi Pilosof Ionita and Matt Murphy are also joining our Board of Directors—Naomi as director, Matt as observer—and we’re lucky to have their expertise as operators and investors.
Today’s news marks a major milestone for our company, so we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how we got here and what’s next for Fleetsmith.
Our growth and momentum
Since announcing our Series A funding last April, we’ve rolled out exciting new product updates, more than doubled our team, and continued executing on our vision. Our customer base is growing quickly—we now have over 1,500 customers who are using Fleetsmith to modernize their IT workflows, manage their inventory, secure their devices, and ensure they are in compliance.
Over the past year, we launched the general availability of Fleetsmith and a new product called Fleetsmith Intelligence—the industry’s first ever free device intelligence product. We rolled out support for businesses using Office 365 and iOS and tvOS devices, announced new Dashboard and Audit Log features, and launched a reseller program called the Fleetsmith Partner Program. For our hard work, we were recognized by the SaaS Awards as last year’s “Best Saas Newcomer,” and as a finalist for “Best Security Innovation.”
We also added new members to the Fleetsmith team: engineers, product managers, designers, salespeople, marketers, and customer support staff. We more than doubled our headcount to nearly 30 employees, and brought on Dan Levinschi as our Vice President of Marketing. Dan has over ten years of experience at Google and fast-growing startups like PandaDoc, and will be responsible for our global go-to-market strategy and revenue growth. Welcome, Dan!
What’s next for Fleetsmith
There’s a lot we’re planning to tackle with our new funding, and we’re excited to share what’s next.
First, we’ll continue building features that empower customers to take control of their fleets—automating tedious tasks, making security easy, surfacing fleet insights, and automatically setting up new devices. In the spirit of constantly improving our product, we’re also announcing a new admin console today. You can read more about it in this post by Ishita Arora, our VP of Product.
We also plan to expand our operations globally, starting with Europe. With our funding, we’ll be able to work closely with our existing European customers while introducing Fleetsmith to new companies that run on Apple devices.
Lastly, we’re thrilled to use our new funding to hire more people—that means more than tripling the size of our team. We love our team in San Francisco, and can’t wait to grow it around the world. If you’re inspired by our vision to build the future of modern IT, we're hiring now across all functions!
We’ve come a long way since launching Fleetsmith three years ago, and we owe our success to our customers' enthusiasm, our investors' unwavering support, and our team's tireless dedication—thank you. But we know our work is far from done. We’ll continue working hard to make Fleetsmith the top choice for every person who oversees a fleet of Apple devices. Stay tuned for more news from us this year. Onward!
