Here's your monthly update on what we’ve been working on! There was some huge news for the company recently, but we didn’t spend too much time celebrating. April had a number releases we wanted to make sure didn’t get lost in the mix.
Fleetsmith completes its Series B
First, some big news for us: we just closed a $30 million Series B funding round!
This wouldn’t have happened without every single one of you who trust us with your devices, so we really have to thank you for your continued support and all the great feedback you give us. The most important thing you should know about this funding is that it will allow us to expand our team and build you an even better Fleetsmith. We’re hiring like crazy right now, so if you know someone who could help us to help you, send them our way.
New Admin console coming
Along with the funding, we also announced a brand new look and feel for our admin console. This represents the biggest change to our interface since we launched from beta, and it’s driven by the things we’ve heard from you and the things we’ve learned about how you want to work. The new admin console is faster, easier to use, and maybe even a little more fun (or I’d like to think so, at least). It also includes new pagination and other tweaks that will keep Fleetsmith performing at the level you expect, no matter how many devices you manage.
The new admin console is going to be rolled out in stages throughout the month, so if you don’t have it yet, please be patient!
macOS Energy Saver
The new macOS Energy Saver catalog item will let you set and enforce the energy saver configuration across your Mac devices. Want your monitors to sleep after a certain period of inactivity? Or for workstations to shut down outside business hours? We’ve got that covered in a few clicks.
macOS 10.14.4 and iOS 12.2
This past month we added support for the most recent macOS and iOS releases, macOS 10.14.4 and iOS 12.2.
New Catalog Item: Dashlane
We recently added support for Dashlane, a popular password manager. Password managers are one of the most important things a company can adopt for security, so we want to make it as easy as possible. With this addition, we now support the three most commonly used password management solutions: 1Password, LastPass, and Dashlane.
Fleetsmith Agent Update
We released version 2.94 of our agent in April. This was a small update and fixed a minor bug which caused updates to download twice in certain rare situations.
Agent updates usually pass unnoticed for customers, but some of you have been curious about them, so we will be noting changes in the monthly product email going forward.
Fleetsmith Status Page
Finally, please bookmark the Fleetsmith status page:
We’ll continue to share information about anything that could affect your Fleetsmith experience across all channels, but updates about service disruptions will be posted to the status page first, so it's where you'll want to look if something isn't working correctly. The status page is a work in progress, so over time we'll be making it even more useful.
Thanks for a great month! As usual, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We love to hear from you.
